Nothing negative to report at all, the van is serving our family well.Ĥ0,000 miles, zero issues. Tires have been rotated At recommended intervals and have a good amount of tread left. Starting to look into a set of upgraded front brakes, a vibration is starting to occur at times under anything harder than normal braking. I appreciate the automatic hi-beams and the interior and exterior are holding up well. Highly recommend this van to anyone looking.ģ0,000 miles now and nary a problem. It tightened up the back when we had a heavy load in the vehicle. We upgraded the rear suspension with a set of Timbren SES’s. Tires still have plenty of tread, brakes working almost as new. The interior is holding up well as is the exterior. I’ve come to appreciate the adaptive cruise and lane keeping assist when I go on long road trips. I … will update with more mileage.Ģ0,000 trouble free miles now on this van. Overall, this van seems to be a solid buy. We definitely like the amount of USB cords available. Very comfortable on the few 4+ hour road trips we have taken. The engine has more than enough power to lug around our family of five plus cargo. Interior is much quieter than I expected. The darker grey color with the black interior looks quite classy. Intercom system (known as CabinTalk, it broadcasts the driver's voice through the rear speakers).Sound-reducing side and rear window glass.Power-folding and auto-dimming side mirrors. The range-topping Elite is fully equipped with: Front and rear parking sensors (alert you to obstacles that may not be visible in front of or behind the vehicle when parking).Rear-cabin camera monitoring system (known as CabinWatch, it displays a view of the rear seating area on the touchscreen).Rear-seat entertainment system with 10.2-inch screen, Blu-ray player and wireless headphones. The Touring model adds significantly to the feature content to include: Black leather upholstery with red stitching. The Sport adds to the EX-L model with cosmetic upgrades: Upgrades on the midtier EX-L model include: Rear cross-traffic alert (warns you if a vehicle behind you is about to cross your vehicle's path while in reverse).Blind-spot monitoring (alerts you if a vehicle in the next lane over is in your blind spot).Adaptive cruise control (maintains a driver-set distance between the Honda and the car in front).Lane departure mitigation (warns you of a lane departure when a turn signal isn't used and can automatically steer to maintain lane position).Forward collision mitigation (warns you of an impending collision and applies the brakes in certain scenarios).Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.Rear-seat reminder system (reminds you to check the rear seats for occupants when you park the car). Now you can say "Stop touching your sister!" without having to turn your head around to shout it. A microphone picks up your voice and broadcasts it to the rear of the van via the speakers or through the rear entertainment system's headsets. The available cabin intercom also lets you bypass the low-level road noise. Honda deserves credit for its noise-reduction efforts, and the Odyssey is the quietest minivan in the segment by our measurements. But generally speaking, there aren't many bumps the Honda can't absorb with ease. Our Odyssey Elite's 19-inch wheels likely gave it a firmer ride than the smaller available wheel options (smaller wheels mean more absorbent tire sidewalls). Third-row legroom is limited, but two grown-ups can survive back there for shorter distances. The second-row seats are equally suited for kids or adults. The front seats are great for logging miles on extended drives. How comfortable is the Odyssey? The Odyssey is slightly ahead of its peers in yet another area. This was a 2018 Odyssey, but the 2023 model is part of the same generation, so most of our observations still apply. Our editors spent a year and 20,000 miles with a Honda Odyssey and learned everything that's great, and not so great, about Odyssey ownership. Check out our test team's Expert Rating below for our complete evaluation. But on the whole, we think the Odyssey is a great pick for a family hauler. Meanwhile, the Kia Carnival offers a compelling value and a longer warranty than the Odyssey. You can get them with all-wheel drive, too, which is something Honda doesn't offer. The Sienna and the Pacifica both offer a hybrid model, which greatly improves the fuel economy. There isn't much minivan competition these days, but those that remain include the Toyota Sienna, Chrysler Pacifica and the Kia Carnival. Then, right in the middle of the lineup, Honda has added a Sport trim with black exterior accents and distinctive interior upholstery. It costs more than the old LX but has more standard features as compensation. Honda did eliminate the LX trim, making the EX the new base trim. The 2023 Honda Odyssey is pretty much unchanged.

And I didn’t notice a big difference between the Plus and simple HD 8 except for gaming. Chrome, the Amazon Silk browser, YouTube, Netflix, Prime Video, all of that works – but with occasional stutters. Generally, most simple apps run well, but intensive multitasking is out of the question. As long as you don’t open sophisticated web apps, it works. You can certainly use YouTube in one window and the Chrome browser in the other. Simple multitasking is still possible on both. However, they run without stutters for the most part. Obviously, the graphics don’t look particularly good and most games have to be played with lower settings. Games like World of Tanks and League of Legends also run great on the Fire HD 8 Plus. Subway Surfers runs great most of the time, but not all of the time. I noticed this even with simpler games like Subway Surfers and Botworld. So, I tried Asphalt 9 and although it runs fine on the Plus – it also crashes constantly on the normal Fire HD 8. On the regular Fire HD 8, however, it crashes. The Play Store is not officially supported and I was able to install PUBG Mobile from the Amazon App Store on both and it runs fine on the Plus with HD graphics. However, games constantly crashed in my test – Geekbench often as well.įirst I tried to install Apex Legend and PUBG Mobile, but you cannot install them from the Google Play Store on either model. Obviously, the fact that a benchmark does not run is not important in real life. I could not run the 3D Mark Wild Life test on the Fire HD 8 because it requires at least 3GB of RAM. The Nokia T10 and realme Pad mini are marginally better. The Fire HD 8 Plus scores quite poorly in the 3D Mark Wild Life test. The processor performance is significantly weaker than the slightly more expensive realme Pad mini – however, Amazon’s graphics performance is better, really good for this price. They are a good bit more powerful than the predecessors and faster than the Amazon Fire 7. My Geekbench 5 benchmark shows that the two models are equally fast. In addition, we get 2GB of RAM in the Fire HD 8 and 3GB in the Fire HD 8 Plus. Both models are equipped with a MediaTek MT8169A hexa-core processor. The biggest problem starts with the hardware. Instead, you need to find ways to remove their limbs to significantly impair and damage them. The core combat idea is that the Necromorphs are not particularly vulnerable to standard damage. The original was very much a Resident Evil 4 meets Event Horizon kind of game, and the remake solidifies the gameplay. The gameplay of Dead Space hasn't significantly changed. In the original game, she was barely present except as a goal for Isaac, but here, you get a much better feel of her as a character. You get a greater idea of some of the characters and how they work, and it lends a lot more to the setting, including making the ties to Dead Space 2 and 3 feel more natural. There are no huge shifts, and much of the dialogue is the same in meaning, if not line-for-line from the original, but everything is more fleshed out. The rest of the cast also benefits a lot from the writing changes. It's easy to worry about a voiced protagonist hurting the immersion, but Dead Space Remake knocks it out of the park. It also helps to make some of the other characters less annoying, as Isaac is now volunteering to do things instead of being a mute puppet. It's difficult to express how big an improvement this is, as it makes him feel like an actual person. The game resisted the urge to have Isaac talking to himself, so it means that he participates in conversations. Perhaps the most significant change from the original game is that Isaac is now voiced, and in this case, it works extremely well. Isaac must find a way to survive in the most hellish ship since the Event Horizon, and hopefully, he can rescue Nicole and get out alive. When Isaac and his crew arrive, they find that the massive ship seems to be empty - except for horrifying clawed and spiked zombie-monsters, which seem to be all that is left of the original crew. Nicole, Isaac's girlfriend, is a doctor on the ship, so he goes along in the hopes of seeing her. The Ishimura is a "planet cracker" ship that harvests abandoned worlds for materials, and it has mysteriously gone offline. Players step into the metal boots of Isaac Clark, a repairman who is being sent with his crew to the USG Ishimura. It is perhaps one of the few remakes I can think of that effectively replaces the original game it's basically the same game but better.ĭead Space Remake is set in the far distant future, when humanity has taken to the stars. It's easily one of the most faithful remakes I've ever played, and in this case, I mean that in an entirely positive way. It has almost all of the same scares, the same set pieces, and the same plot, but everything is polished and revamped. Dead Space Remake isn't so much a reimagining of the original as it is an updated version. Dead Space stands out from other remakes in that it is incredibly loyal to the original game without being overly so. Resident Evil is almost up to the RE4 Remake, and Silent Hill 2 is joining the ever-increasing list. We're in the era where a ton of the most popular horror games of all time are getting remakes. Throwing Axes: (200/100/100 Gold): Barbarians can throw axes at ground and flying enemies in range, causing them 34-42/44-52/54-62 and having a range of 260/280/300. Holy Strike: (220/150/150 Gold) Paladin attacks have a 10% chance to become a Holy Stike, dealing 25-45/50-90/75-135 physical damage in an small area (true damage in flash).īarbarian Mead Hall: It trains Barbarians, fast warriors of the north without armor, but he has more health than a paladin and much more offensive capacity thanks to his pile of axes, he literally has a ranged attack!.Shield of Valor: (250 Gold) Paladins gain an additional 15% armor.Healing Light: (150/150/150 Gold) Every 10 seconds paladins will heal 40-60/80-120/120-180 health does not remove negative effects. They are extremely tough, boasting great armor and healing ability, however they take longer to respawn than other soldiers. Holy Order: Paladins who do not rest until justice is served. Militia barracks, Footmen barracks, and Knight barracks are the basic towers in kingdom rush, they do not have any special quality, compared to other barracks towers Values in parentheses are due to Upgrades. Each upgrades a stage further before offering a split choice between two new towers with additional upgrades to further boost their offensive and defensive capabilities. The three non-specialized towers differ in each game but have the same purpose. Plus, additional melee towers unique to individual levels. There are five Melee Towers in the first three Kingdom Rush games: If a soldier is killed, he will re-spawn within a certain period of time. Thus, it is very important to choose the right position for the soldiers, where they will be able to properly coordinate. Soldiers don't do much damage, but instead serve to block enemies and allow other towers to deal out the real punishment. To move them you must change the rally point, for this select the flag that is seen melle tower menu, and then tap on some other point in its range Can't attack in all their range at the same time, due to their mechanics. The maximum number of soldiers active at once from a tower is three, with the exception of four towers that can only send out two soldiers at a time.Melee Tower units cannot attack flying units directly, with the exception of a few towers.Melee Tower units do relatively minor physical damage. Some characteristics shared by all Melee towers are: Let’s unpack that data for a quick minuteīefore we unpack anything, it’s important to note the nuance of platform choice. Here’s how everything plays out cumulatively, platform-wise: Labyrinth of Galleria: The Moon Society (Switch) – 83.The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog (PC) – 84.Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo (Switch) – 85.Theatrhythm Final Bar Line (Switch) – 87.The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (Switch) – 96/100 Metascore. It’s hitting every major console on release, so don’t miss out.Metacritic’s top games so far (as of the end of June 2023) A puzzle-filled, big-hearted adventure tinged with cosmic horror, A Space for the Unbound ushers players through a magnificent journey. This title throws constant surprises at me throughout my ten-hour playtime. I don’t want to give too much away, but this isn’t the only game-altering moment, either. It is just the right amount of ridiculous to sweep away my previous irritation. Suddenly, the game transforms into an old-school fighting game, with combo prompts translating to punishing blows. And in one of my favorite moments of the early game, I learn to throw punches from a video game master in the arcade. To get the hard-won confection out of the neighborhood, I need to fight off a horde of bullies. Happily, this task is quickly followed by an unexpected gameplay shift. Finding chocolate, I inspire a child to make healthier life choices by balancing now-literal scales with nutritious food options. Gathering cherries, I help an old man remember a care-free time with his brother by catching mouth-watering fruit rather than snakes. I’m not a fan of the repetition, but I do appreciate how much thoughtful commentary the developer injects into everything. But, of course, the owner can’t make the cake, and I have to convince the chef to come back, which demands more ingredient gathering. Despite some introspective mind-hoping that pulls me deeper into the world and its inhabitants, I’m happy to be done with the fetch-quest-like mission when it’s over. The owner says they can make the needed dessert if I obtain three ingredients. In one part, I have to pick up a special cake from the cafe, but the chef just quit. Using my ability to Spacedive, I jump into peoples’ brains and solve puzzles to fulfill my objectives, and, while fun, the nature of these quests run dangerously close to becoming formulaic. The ending wouldn’t have hit nearly as hard without it, but I would have loved to see it streamlined. The first section is vital for establishing characters, relationships, and mechanics. There are hints that something weird is going on - I wake up from a dream in which I die, and odd things keep happening - but the sidescrolling slice-of-life gameplay lulls me into a false sense of security. Playing as Atma - a high school-aged boy happy to collect bottle caps, pet stray cats, and visit the arcade - I wander a small town. Guessing where the game would eventually end up would have been difficult in the opening hours. The last arc may be long, but the game earns every minute of it. The way my character wrestles with his own existence, gives space to someone suffering with their mental health, and stands aside to let a friend have short, but therapeutic confrontations with inner demons. However, it’s the small things that I can’t get out of my head. The visually distinct world is filled to the brim with flawed-but-relatable characters whose inner struggles boil over with world-ending consequences.Ī Space for the Unbound’s riotous, emotionally-charged final chapter is fantastical - with a giant kaiju fight looming over a broken world of floating debris. Heart-twisting and compassionate, the game’s narrative consistently stands above all else, treating heavy themes with memorable grace. Inception, branching timelines, magical rifts, demon cat guardians, and supernatural powers could be the highlight of any game, but in A Space for the Unbound, these elements are merely set dressing for a far more powerful headliner. Doesn’t the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) prohibit the kind of clarifications described above?Ī. The pharmacist must document the clarification after consultation with the prescriber. The pharmacist may change the brand name to match the correct combination product intended. The Riki’s prominent face has half-inch-tall numerals and large hour and minute arms, so it’s easy to read-even in dim light and from a distance. The only alarm clock among our picks with a design-award pedigree, the sedate beechwood Riki was designed by Japanese modernist Riki Watanabe, whose work was known for being simple yet functional. Why it’s great: If you want a dependable alarm clock with a timeless analog design that’s dead silent and easy to use, the Lemnos Riki checks all of those boxes. The developers recently added Bluetooth speaker functionality and are promising Spotify connectivity and additional sounds as features that are “coming soon.” We’ll update this guide when-and if-these features appear. For instance, we discovered one night that there were a few more soothing classical compositions to wake up to than we’d had the day before and that alarm-scheduling options had been expanded. But on a regular basis this clock can get additional features delivered via Wi-Fi updates. The Loftie isn’t “smart” like other smart alarm clocks, in that you won’t be served the news or the weather with the aid of a voice assistant. The two other buttons are for setting the alarm, accessing brightness and volume settings, setting the duration of the sleep timer, and choosing alarm tones. You won’t be able to read using the light, but it’s bright enough for when you’re fumbling for your glasses or going to the bathroom in the middle of the night. There’s an adjustable night-light hidden at the base that’s easily turned on and off, using the large button on top of the clock (it also works as the snooze button). We also liked the clock’s all-black exterior (it comes in a white and black option, too), which is free of distracting lights or branding. But it’s clear, and it automatically sets the time once connected to a Wi-Fi network. Of clocks we’ve tested, this one’s display isn’t the largest or the brightest. And though the clock’s single-speaker output can be a bit tinny for playing music, it can get surprisingly loud and is just fine for alarm tones and answering Google Assistant prompts. Fortunately, the clock’s two microphones (one in the front, the other in the back) are very sensitive and able to discern commands, even when we used a hushed volume at night. To set the alarm, adjust the volume, or turn on the night-light, it was always much easier to summon help with a “hey, Google …” instead. There’s also a tap at the top to enable the snooze feature, but it sometimes required another touch to register. Unless you’re looking at them from above, the buttons are discernible only by touch, and I often fumbled at night or in the early morning while trying to turn on music or adjust the volume. Even though the clock is outfitted with four evenly distributed buttons-for volume, turning on music, and the alarm settings-they are obscured from view due to the angled wedge design. Most everything this alarm clock can do is hidden, accessed using its built-in Google Assistant voice controls or with the Google Home app. |
